Special thanks to Joshua Sofaer for the invitation to work on this interesting project, The Lucky Charm, to explore the possibilities of pleats, performance and narrative. I always admire his storytelling, vision and aesthetics.
Experimenting throughout the summer of 2022 and produced these 3 water portals .
The Eye of the Blind Snake is acontemporary folklore tale in which a River God and a farmer swap places to better understand the way in which water is needed by nature and by farming respectively. The story is inspired by a water portal in Guantian, Tainan, Taiwan. Creating an origami structure pleated in reflective material as the costume for the guardians of the water portal.”
